So here I am again with another new post (yay!) and some exciting news (yay!) and I'll hopefully be posting new stuff on a more regular basis, because I'm testing a TON of stuff right now!:) My husband is trying to convince me to start vlogging... So yeah... we'll see how that goes.

Anyway, you all know how much I *love* nail art and doing my nails! Well, now that I'm a mom, my time is extremely limited (and valuable) so I don't have all the time I used to to make sure everything is perfect. Basically, I have a short amount of time, and if I screw up OH WELL. lol no time to go back and remove and start from scratch. Which is why I am sooo excited to share this new tool with you! This will revolutionize how you do nail art!

If you're like me, your one hand probably looks awesome, and the other hand (done by your non-dominant hand) looks... well, not as good ;) The awesome mavens over at Julep invented....

The Plie! OMG It's like using a pen! Not all those regular, hard to use nail polish cap/brushes. Where has this been all my life?? How has no one else invented these yet?

The good news is that you can have your VERY OWN PLIE as they hit the market TODAY!! (yay!!) And even better news they will fit the Julep polishes you already have!!

So go to Julep's site! Pick up your own! And buy some of their fancy new summer polishes as well!!

Have you tried The Plie yet? What are your thoughts? Do you think you'll pick one up?
Testing... Testing... Is this thing on? Is anyone out there? Anyone still reading... lol

So it's been almost a year since I stopped writing here for good, and I have to tell you. I *really* miss it.

I didn't realize what a big part of my life involved blogging.

Every time I paint my nails. Every time I try a new product. Ha, anytime I'm at Ulta or Sephora or even Target, I want to write and share what I'm buying/trying etc.

I love my kid (oh! so so so so much!) And I want to tell everyone all about him, too! But I've gotta tell you... there's 2178973809890388 mom blogs out there, and I'm not sure that's an arena in which I'm very comfortable.

I'm a beauty blogger. This is where I belong.

I can't promise I'll be blogging every day (actually, I can promise it won't be every day! lol) But I definitely want to start blogging again...

If anyone is out there and would care to read it anymore? ;)

(p.s. I realize there's probably some coding/detailed stuff that needs to be fixed around here, but give me some time! I'm still working 40+ hours a week, commuting, and still trying to do the mom and wife thing too. I'll get there;)
I would've never guessed that so many people would find it and enjoy my writing. I have made so many friends throughout this and learned so much about myself and makeup during this journey. I didn't know how long I would blog, but as my writing got stronger, as more people started following, as more companies started contacting me for reviews, I really thought I was in it for the long run.

Then I had a baby. I wouldn't trade him for the world. I started blogging because I was looking for a new hobby; I was trying to find who I really was and what I wanted. I loved writing. I loved makeup. It all made sense. I still love those things, but I love my son so much more. My free time is hugely limited now as I am both a full-time employee for a company and a full-time mom. Sadly, blogging feels more like a burden and something I "should" do rather than something I really "want" to do.

I always knew that when blogging wasn't fun any more, that is when I would stop. I guess in the back of my mind for the past six months or so, I figured this day would eventually come. With all the drama I had from my comment platform and then deleting and losing a year and a half worth of comments... Trying to revamp and remodel the blog in between feedings, napping, and play times....

This is where the road ends for glitter gloss & glaze.

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me over the years! This was seriously one of the best choices I ever made and I cannot thank you enough for reading, for commenting, for tweeting, etc. The beauty blogger family is truly one of the best groups in which I have ever been involved.

However, this is not the end for Kristen. I have several other projects (and ideas) in the works. And in the next year or so when they come to fruition, I will share that news with you!

I will continue to be active on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc. so you can always still get a hold of me!

Stay beautiful my friends, goodbye,
How I've missed you! I've got to tell you that being a MOM is the most amazing and rewarding thing I've ever done in my life. I spend every spare moment I have with my fabulous son; but I've realized how big of a part of my life blogging was and I do miss it!

As you may recall in February I had a huge issue with my comments system and I ended up losing them all. Then for not blogging for four months, I know I've lost a number of readers. I understand I'm going to be almost starting from scratch, but I'm really looking forward to it.

So! Starting in July, I plan on revamping and restarting my blogging!! I have a bunch of products I'm trying now that I can't wait to share with you! So thanks to those of you who have stuck with me! I will be back! And better than ever! Promise:)
Hi Lovelies! I know a random post from me shocking and not exciting since it's not beauty related, but I am soooo frustrated right now!!! I have been using IntenseDebate for over a year now for my comments. For the most part, they've been really good and I liked the layout and how my comments looked on the blog. They were pretty good at weeding on spam at the beginning, but now it is just out of control!!

Today I received nearly 10 "anonymous" comments that all were posted to my blog. All spam. IntenseDebate says there is a way you can "moderate all comments" but that option is not in my settings. I don't even have a way to MAKE people log in before commenting.

I know I used to complain about having to type in the crazy letter/number code to "make sure I'm human" on other blogs, but I totally understand why now! This spamming thing is freaking annoying and honestly makes me hate my blog because I think it brings down the value of it.

So after going through IntenseDebate's "support" pages and not finding anything to help me, I wanted to contact them. TOO BAD THEY CAN'T BE CONTACTED 'TIL MONDAY AT 10 am PACIFIC TIME. Are you kidding me?

I am completely disgusted and will be uninstalling it tonight. I understand there's a good chance I'm going to lose all my comments from all you fabulous dears, and for that I am truly sorry. I just can't allow this to continue any longer. Every day the "anonymous" comments become more and more, and this is where I'm putting my foot down. Just wanted you to know why you may soon see no comments on any of my posts:)

Love and miss you all! Look for upcoming posts next week!
(promise:)Hi Lovelies! I know it's been a while! And I hate doing posts like this, but I wanted to at least drop in and say hello! Things have been crazy lately! (thus the lack of blogging). I've been busy with work and prepping for baby; and when I'm not doing those things, I'm sleeping. Seriously, I fell asleep at 6:20pm last night. Ugh. The baby is stealing all my energy! Forty more days 'til due date! Crazy, right??

We had the baby shower a little more than a week ago, and I did Angry Bird nails!
Anyway, I've still been using new beauty products for the benefit of you all;) Most you've probably already read reviews on, but I still plan to give you all my opinions as well! Hopefully in the next week or so:)
You know how there are some products that as soon as you buy it you just KNOW you're going to love it?? Then there's other products you're not totally sure about when you buy, but you grow to love them? This product is kinda somewhere in between... when I saw it sitting in Ulta in all its glory, I honestly thought it was going to be my new favorite product! But after nearly a month of use, I'm almost ready to store it away (or re-gift it? lol)

The product I'm talking about is NYX Box of Smokey Look Collection. Let's be honest, who *doesn't* love a smokey eye?? And this palette gives you options!

Classic? Purple? Bronze? Natural? The options are limitless with this grouping of shadows! Mix and match! Create your own looks! Who wouldn't love that?? But wait! There's more!

Don't stop your look with JUST THE EYES! Complete it! Use the bronzer, blush, and highlighter to contour your face! And there's a hidden eye liner and sponge applicator! This can all be found by sliding the shadows to the side. But wait! THERE'S MORE!!

Pull out the bottom drawer and you get lipsticks, lip glosses, concealers, and OMG GLITTER!

It should be obvious to anyone now why I thought this was such a genius product, right? Your whole face is in this one handy container! Multiple looks! Change day to night! Oh! The possibilities!! And NYX is really amazing company. Great products, great prices ($24.99 when I bought it.) Who wouldn't want all those products for such a cheap price??

*sigh* I am not in love. I realllllly wanted to be. And there are parts of this collection I really do enjoy. Here are my thoughts:

The shadows are okay. I do love all the colors and the combination, but I don't feel like they are very blendable. Wherever my brush lands on my lid is kinda where that shadow is going. They're just not as soft/velvety as I would have liked. But the color combinations are great! And I do like the versatility of doing purple, classic, bronze, natural, etc.

The light bronzer I actually kind of like! I think the formula is pretty good and it's not too dark for my Snow White-like skin! The darker bronzer will probably never work for me. lol. I like the bottom light pink blush--it proves a nice flush, healthy glow that compliments my cool skin tone. The highlighter is eh, ok. It's almost just like putting baby powder on my face it's sooo white. (it doesn't look white when applied). But I also can't really tell when it's applied...

I haven't used the lip products or concealers yet. I [tried to] use some of the glitter shadows (and we ALL know how much I heart glitter!) but they were more trouble than they were worth:( Kinda flaked off and just made a mess. Maybe I'm not applying it correctly...

So bottom line? It's an okay palette, and I probably will use parts of it in the future, but given the opportunity, I would not buy it again. And I don't really recommend it to anyone else. I would've rather spent the $25 on something else that I would use more frequently.

Have you tried this box of makeup? What did you think? What's your favorite makeup product right now?
You may remember last spring I posted about a cheaper way to get the Urban Decay Naked 2's looks! I recently had a comment asking to swatch the UD shadows with some of the dupes in the NYX Caviar & Bubbles palette! So, here it is! Sadly, NYX doesn't name their shadows so you'll see the UD ones named with the NYX one next to them. All pictures are done without flash for a more natural lighting look. You'll notice that why not exact matches, I still think they're close enough to work:) Let me know what you think and if you've found any other dupes for the Naked 2 Palette!:)
Oh! It's been so long I can hardly even remember the last time I blogged! Anyway, I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas (or whatever holiday you choose to celebrate) and a very Happy New Year! I had about a two and a half week vacation half way across the country to visit the husband's family for the holidays. We had a small family baby shower as well, so that was lovely. Oh! And we did the 3D/4D Ultrasound to see the baby! (he's freaking adorable!:)

Anyway, all the running around and being in my third trimester has just drained me of any extra energy I used to have. I will say that it is soooo nice to finally be home; and I will never, ever complain again about it being too hot here in Florida! After dealing with snow and temperatures at 20 and below, I no longer long for any cold weather this winter. Or ever. lol.

I have tons to catch you up on! If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you probably got to see some of my fun nail designs I did while I was away; and I got a bunch of new products for Christmas that I can't wait to review for you! Ooooh! And I got new hair! Just a trim with some extra layers put in but I went a little darker than my natural color--kind of a mocha brown--with some auburn highlights through it. It looks amazing! Really warms up my complexion! The only downside is that I've been told that red fades faster than other colors and since it was put over my blonde highlights, it's possible they'll start showing through too soon. We shall see!

I'm not sure what 2013 holds for glitter gloss & glaze. You'll probably notice fewer posts as it gets closer to baby time, but I'll still be around! Hope to catch up soon!!
Can you believe it's less than a week to Christmas!! It's especially hard for me to believe since it's still 80 degrees here during the day! I do love Florida, but I'm missing a little wintery weather. So! I've decided to make it snow on my nails!

I posted this picture to Instagram/Facebook/Twitter the other night and people seemed to really enjoy it, so I wanted to share with you how I did it!

First, this is a shirt that I got at Target probably four or five years ago--it is one of my favorite T-shirts that can really only be worn during the Christmas/winter season (because who wears snowflakes other times of the year??;) [sadly, thanks to the baby in my belly, I can't wear it this year:(]

This was the inspiration for my nails! I'm not sure why blue seems like such a "cold" color, but it does hahah!

First, is my favorite base coat!

Then two coats of Sinful Colors Cinderella--this is a really soft, baby blue, with light sparkle to it (one of my faves) and a coat of China Glaze Luxe and Lush from the Hunger Games. This polish has some chunky sparkles in that are multi-colored and kinda change color depending on the lighting.

With my Konad white polish and stamping set, I used Shany plate 17 which has a big snowflake right in the middle of it and tried to center the snowflake on each nail.

Once it dried, I used another coat of Luxe and Lush (this helped add additional dimension to my nails so it really looks like how snowflakes glisten in the sunlight when they fall:) And finished with Seche Vite top coat.

Sadly, I waited 'til late at night to take additional pictures and didn't use the flash so the quality isn't as good as I'd like and it definitely doesn't show just how amazing my nails look! So take this for now, and I'm going to try to get better (outside!) pix soon to post more!!

So what do you think? What special manis have you done for the holidays??:)

Do you have any stores that specialize in vintage/retro clothing??
This is a Flashback Friday post different from most of the others. It's really not beauty related at all--just real life related.

There are a number of reasons I started this blog fourteen months ago--one of which was that I loved to write. I have always loved to write. When I was around eight or nine, I started writing all kinds of short stories. Some never got finished and would just sit in a notebook. Some I actually completed and would put in little binders.

When I was ten, I started a "newspaper" with my then BFF and called it the "Treetop Times." We'd each write articles for it and type it up and hand it out to our classmates.

At eleven, I corroborated with two other friends and we wrote a puppet show skit for the school Christmas play--our teachers actually let us take some time out of class to work on it together! I also got second place in a district essay contest.

This entire time I was also heavily into reading--I had my favorite authors and just knew that somehow, I'd be a writer when I grew up. I didn't think I'd be able to write a whole book though! Maybe magazines or newspapers. I heard the term "freelance writer" and thought that would make me happy--I would just write for whomever about whatever they wanted!

So, in seventh grade, I was twelve. My life, my dreams, my goals were all drastically turned around upside down. Mr. Hall (Michael Chapman Hall. Name has not been changed to protect the innocent) was asking us all one day in class what we wanted to be when we grew up. Without hesitation, I proclaimed that I was going to be a journalist. Mr. Hall nearly laughed at me and said, "With the things you've turned in for English class?"

Lovelies, to this day, I have no idea what he actually meant by that comment. Was it because my imagination was so vivid? (it really was, some of the stuff I wrote was out there! But it was well-written!) But it didn't matter what he actually meant because all I heard was, "That's never going to happen. You're not good enough."

I don't know if I shared with anyone then what he said or how it made me feel. Years later, my mom told me I shouldn't have taken it so personally. But that one moment, shut me down. I still wrote in my journal and would dabble in some poetry in my notebooks here and there; but I never wrote again like I did before his comments. I lost my love for writing because I thought I wasn't good enough.

Years have passed and occasionally I've thought about changing career fields or maybe trying to do some "freelance writing," but I never did. The thoughts still haunting me that I wouldn't be good enough.

However, the story has a happy ending! I mentioned a few weeks ago I may be involved in a new endeavor! And I am! I was recruited to be a contributor to The Flairist--an online magazine for the shamelessly ambitions woman! (Read more about it here!) I'm super excited to be involved in a movement and product that is all about helping women find their way in love, life, and careers. And even more excited that at least in some aspect, I have made it! I am a sort of journalist--when Mr. Hall thought I'd never do it.

So don't give up on your dreams, lovelies! Don't let anyone ever tell you that you CAN'T do something or you WON'T do something. You are the one that controls all those decisions! It's never too late to try something you really want to do.

And make sure you check out The Flairist! There are a number of amazing people working there, and there will continue to be awesome articles that are applicable to where you are in your life right now!
I'm sure we've all watched Toy Story a time or two before (if not, I am very sorry for your lacking childhood. Please see it immediately!;) Anyway, Buzz Lightyear's catchphrase was "To infinity AND BEYOND!!" Beyond, what?? Anyone who's completed grade school knows that "beyond" is usually a preposition and should have a noun following it (known as the "object of the preposition.") But I'm not sure Buzz ever told us.

Fast forward a number of years, and now I'm shopping in a store called Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Again, I have to ask--beyond what?? Honestly, they probably used "beyond" for the alliteration value (I applaud that;) and "Bed, Bath, and a lot of other stuff for your kitchen, home, and life" was really too long to put on a sign or flyer. lol.

As you know, I received some products from Prestige Cosmetics and have been reviewing them every week or so (another one will be posted shortly!) I have really fallen in love with both the quality and the price of these products, but was having the hardest time finding them! I checked Ulta, Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Target--they were NO WHERE! I was so distraught for finding a new totally affordable brand and not being able to buy them! (Yes, there is online shopping, but you know how sometimes you just want to see the REAL color IN PERSON and not just on your computer screen before you buy it??)

Turns out, last weekend I found out what "beyond" at Bed Bath and Beyond really means! It means "omg, Kristen, did you know we also sell makeup???" No, BBB, I had no idea! Seriously??!!?!?

Lovelies, they do. There's an ENTIRE section at Bed Bath and Beyond that has every hair and makeup product you could wish to buy at any other retail chain! It was beautiful! I was in heaven! And yes! They had Prestige Cosmetics!!! So I was able to pick up some stuff and will review that in the near future:)

Oh and as for Buzz Lightyear's definition of beyond? I guess it can also be used as an adverb that means: "farther on or away:" ;)
Can you believe it's finally December?? OMG, where has this year gone?? Christmas is my favorite time of the year, but we haven't gotten the tree up or the lights outside yet either. *sigh* I wish I could have a Mary Poppins moment and kinda just have everything do itself. LOL.

But anyway, with all the holiday preps coming up (baking cookies and making fudge is right around the corner!) and my entering my third and final trimester next week (ah! it's coming so soon!) I'm starting to feel a bit overwhelmed and may be blogging kinda sporadically this month.

I still have a number of things to review for you, and I'll get them up as soon as possible! I just don't have the time or energy to write and schedule all my posts right now, so I'll randomly share things with you all as the month goes by.

Thank you sosososososo much for all your understanding! You are the best:)
If you're like me, and you have any amount of hair on your head, you are probably used to having the gigantic towel wrapped up like a turban on top of your head! Which of course does it stay there? No, it's top heavy and will start tilting anytime you try to do anything... lotion on your legs? It falls forward. Doing your makeup? It tips to the side. It's heavy and even after you take the towel down, your hair is still wet.

That my friends, is a thing of the past. Several months ago, I discovered the most genius thing EVER!! The Turbie Twist! I'm sure by now most of you have heard of it (and probably have some of your own), but I'm positive I could never go on without it! If you haven't heard of it, I'll tell you it's a microfiber cloth shaped like your head--so that you tip your head upside down, put the rounded part on the back of your scalp, wrap up your hair, and tuck it in the elastic holder on the back. Voila! No more towel weighing down and shifting on your head!

They are also pretty cheap and you can get them at many stores nationwide (my first was from Walmart. My two patterned ones I got 2/$10 at CVS)
Yes, I even tried a generic one from the Dollar Tree... you'll see it is no longer in my collection because honestly it just didn't work.:( I am all for a bargain, and I honestly believe that a lot of times generic brand items are just as good or at least comparable. Not for this, my friends. It didn't fit my head right, I don't think it was real microfiber. It was just awful. I threw it away.

So! Just when you thought it coudln't get any better! The Turbie people came up with a towel!!

What a genius idea!! Just when you thought it couldn't get any better! So now you can towel dry your hair with the towel before wrapping it up in the Turbie Twist! I just got this so haven't gotten a chance to completely review it yet! But, so far I adore it (of course;) I'll keep you posted as I use it in the near future!:)

this is only half open! it's twice this size!

Do you have a Turbie Twist? Have you tried the Turbie towel yet?:)
You may remember last week I mentioned how I had all these goodies from Prestige Cosmetics to review! I'm going to start with the Wonderfull Lip Plumping Gloss because I am absolutely in love with it right now!

You may recall I've reviewed some lip glosses like this before (such as Hard Candy's last winter). I was quite a fan of it at the time and am always looking for a good lip gloss to make my lips look fuller than they really are!

I got this in the color "Deluxe" which is a very soft, almost nude pink-ish color full of sparkles.

It has a regular sponge tip applicator that is the perfect size for my lips--not too thick, not too skinny.

So what do I love about this so much? I LOVE the feeling of it! You know how plumping glosses usually give a little tingly feeling? This one does and it feels a little more than others I've tried! Especially if the air conditioning or fan blows on it (or for you in the colder regions right now, I'm sure the same thing would happen if you step outside in the chilly weather;) I'm not sure if it's true or not, but I feel like when my lips are tingling they must be looking bigger!;)

no flash

It is a very sticky gloss which I know many people will not like. I actually think it's pretty great because it helps the lip gloss stay on even longer. This gloss has made it through breakfast, lunch, and part of the afternoon before needing a re-application! (some of it does come off, but the overall glitter/shine still lasts!) For only $5.95, I will definitely be picking up more of these in a variety of colors.

with flash

My one warning is this! The tingle is good on my lips, but if I put too much on or accidentally get some on my inner lips or tongue, it burns a bit... and just doesn't taste very good. So be careful with that!

Don't forget! Prestige Cosmetics and a non-animal testing company so you can rest assured no animals were harmed in the making of this and other products they sell.

Have you tried any of Prestige's products yet? Do you have a favorite plumping gloss??
Time for another rousing adventure of the Battle of the BB Creams!!! [insert ominous or gladiator type music here.] I've gotta tell you that I had really been putting off trying the Garnier one. While normally, I'm a *huge* fan or Garnier products (honestly, I have so much hair stuff by them it's a little overwhelming!) but I had heard a lot of negative reviews on this specific BB Cream. It's too greasy; it smells funny; it doesn't work... on and on. But, for you, my loyal friends and readers, I marched on and bought it anyway. (Though for nearly $14 at Walgreens, I definitely had to really push myself to do it!)

I've been using it for a little more than two weeks now, so I've figured out how it works with my skin and all that jazz and I'm ready to review! To start with, Garnier claims that their product offers "instant perfection" and an "all-in-one-miracle, that's a pretty big claim! They go on to say that
"1 Application Provides 5 Instant Results:

evens tone

hydrates

renews

protects

brightens

So, before I work through all of these claims, let me share some pix and first impressions with you!

Here it is first just dabbed onto my inner arm. (I know it's not a perfect comparison to my face, but it's a helpful way to show my natural skin tone and how products interact with it)

From there, I took a picture of just after I started rubbing it in. You can see that even though I got the "Light/Medium" shade (the lightest one they have) it still is dark and looks kinda yellow on my delicately fair skin (that's a nicer way than saying "my pathetically pale skin" lol;)

The final picture shows it completely blended in. As you can see in the corners where my natural skin shows, it's still a bit darker than I'd like.

I was so upset after buying it! I thought, great, I'm not even going to be able to review it since it'll just make my skin look totally jaundiced! Au contraire, my lovelies! Not true at all!

As I stated previously, my arm is not a perfect match to my face. When I put it on my face and blended it was nearly a perfect match! It honestly made my skin look "flawless!" It definitely evened out my tone--not completely my under eye circles, but definitely my rosy cheeks. It's super moistuizing and hydrated my face completely. I know this is the issue a lot of girls have because it "hydrates" too much leaving them with a greasy feeling. For my combination skin, it was just the right amount! No greasiness at all during the day. I'm not sure I can totally say it renews... my skin feels softer, but I'm not sure it's actually "renewed." It protects definitely! It has a 15 SPF which while not the highest for you, it's definitely a good protection to start! I love that it has the sunscreen already included! Lastly, does it brighten? As opposed to does it dull? lol yes, it does brighten! I'm not saying my face glows or anything with it, but it definitely gives me a fresh, dewy face which I actually really enjoy!

Final verdict? While a little more expensive than the previous contenders in the Battle (L'oreal and Maybelline), it also offers more product so I think the unit price is actually less. The smell does bother me a bit, but it wears off shortly application so that's not a huge downside to me anymore. At this point, I'd honestly say it's in the lead! But! I have another BB Cream I'm going to start testing shortly so we'll have to see if Garnier can hold the top spot!!

I still haven't tried any of the Asian BB Creams, which I *know* everyone says is better. What's your favorite BB Cream??
Are you familar with Prestige Cosmetics? I wasn't either, thought surprised since they're such an affordable makeup company! They offer a number of fabulous eye, lip, and face product among others. I'd say they rank around Hard Candy and Wet 'n Wild when it comes to cost.

The lovely Carly at Tilson PR was sweet enough to send me a number of samples to try and review! So today I want to go over very quickly what I got and some first impressions I have on the products and the company as a whole. Then in the next couple weeks, I'll share with you my full review on each of the products. So! Let's get started!

Starting from the top left and going around clockwise:
Eyeshadow Duo in Passionfruit ($4.50): Wet or dry formula, no creasing, long wear. I used this a couple time this past week after receiving and I must say it has some of the smoothest application I've ever seen! Not only is it smooth, it's also super blendable. The two shades just compliment each other and since it's purple, it helps my brown eyes pop!;) I've only been wearing it dry so far, but I plan to try a wet application too and see how that works:)

Wonderful Lip Plumping Gloss in Deluxe ($5.95): Bee-stung pout, shiny, refreshing tingle. This is actually one of the products I requested specifically from Carly. First off, I am addicted to lip gloss (this is no secret;) Secondly, I have somewhat thin lips so I am always ready to try a plumping gloss! I've used it for a few days as well, and it's actually pretty powerful stuff! It's a very sticky lip gloss (which I know some people don't like) but because of that, it lasts for a longer time than what I was expecting. Even the "refreshing tingle" lasts! But more on this after I use it more.

Vinylwear Extreme Lipgloss in Intense Blossom ($5.95): Maximum shine, color intense, long lasting. I was honestly a little nervous by this one because the color in the tube is so bright I was afraid it was going to look too bright on my face. I used it for the first time yesterday and it actually blended in really well to my natural lip color! It comes out as a lot softer pink than it looks in the tube and gives a definitely shiny look to my lips. I was studying the packaging, and I don't understand why the applicator part is so long and the product part is so short, lol.

My Biggest Lashes Mascara in Brown-Black ($6.50): Full plush brush, intense color, one coat application. This is another one of the products I requested since we all know what a mascara whore I am and that I'm always looking for a new volumizing type mascara. This definitely has a plush brush which makes application super easy. It also doesn't make my eyelashes crunchy or clumpy, so so far I'm a fan. We'll have to see how I feel after using it a little longer.

Liquid Glitter Eyeliner in Starlit Black and Super Nova ($5.50): Shimmering "micro-glitter," fine line precision, effortless stroke. I had requested the Starlit Black and was surprised when I received Super Nova as well as I've never ever in my whole entire life used a green eyeliner! lol. I've used Starlit Black several times and am very pleased with the quality. Liquid eyeliner is not something I use a lot (because I'm not very good at it haha, I often smear it all over my lid or blink before it's dry.. drama-rama haha). Anyway, I tried Super Nova for the first time yesterday and oh! I absolutely adored it! It's a soft, sparkly lighter green that just puts a little pop on my eye! I can't wait to use both of these more!

So overall, I'm very excited with everything I received and can't wait to continue testing them all! I'm very impressed with Prestige Cosmetics as a whole. The prices are so affordable and the quality doesn't feel "cheap" at all. They don't do animal testing! Which I know is a huge selling point to many of you! They also have a line of mineral makeup, which I am excited to try as well.

Supposedly they are sold at Walmart, Walgreens, Ulta, Rite Aid, etc. Sadly, I haven't been able to find their products at my local Walgreens or Walmart, but I am going to keep looking at other stores too! If not, their website is super easy to navigate and easy to order through there. And right now they are offering free shipping on orders of $50 or more!!:)

Has anyone else tried Prestige Cosmetics? What are your thoughts?? Where do you buy them?
Today's Flashback Friday post will be a little different than most of my other ones. In fact, the only thing really similar is that it's on a Friday. lol:) But I wanted to share some reflections with you and then also share some things that will be happening as we go forward together!

First, some flashback thoughts. I can't even tell you the last day I did a face of full makeup. LOL. Crazy right?? The pregnancy has still kept me pretty tired, so I've found ways to cut my makeup routine in the morning and still look not horribly hideous;) As much as I said the Maybelline BB Cream wasn't *super* impressive; it has pretty much been saving the day for the past few weeks! lol. (that and the amazing pregnancy hormones that have cleaned up any blemish I had on my face and replaced it with a healthy glow;) Some BB Cream and mascara to open up my eyes has basically been all I've been doing lately. Then some days on the weekends, I have "makeup free" days. Not because I'm lazy then, just 'cause I want my face to breathe:) On these days, I just use a plain moisturizer.

Truth be told, though, I'm not sure if it's the hormones that have cleaned up my skin OR if I was experiencing random breakouts because I was wearing TOO MUCH makeup and/or using products that didn't agree with my skin very much! (As much as I love love love the Maybelline Dream Foam foundation, I think it did cause several breakouts around my chin--not sure why.)

Anyway! Speaking of pregnancy! For those of you who may have missed the announcement, I am pregnant (nearly 23 weeks now! omg!) And....

via

Ah! Kinda crazy! I know a lot of people were hoping I'd have a little girl so I could doll her all up with hair and makeup and nail fun! But the truth is, I'm super excited it's a boy!! I'm a little nervous of how the whole mother/son relationship will develop; but I can't wait to have my house full of Tonka trucks and hot wheels:)

On that note, you may (or may not) have noticed that I'm still keeping a lot of my personal life (like the pregnancy) out of this blog. I know you all read glitter gloss & glaze <strike>because I'm so awesome</strike> because you love the reviews, the nail art (which p.s. I *know* I need to get back into), the tips and tricks, and everything else I share--not because you want to know the condition of my uterus and how big my boobies are getting lol. That's why I've started another blog for that stuff. You are under *no* obligation to even check out my other blog, but I know some of you are curious as to how things are going so I wanted to at least let you know it existed! It's called Lipgloss and Sippy Cups: a beauty blogger's journey to motherhood (and yes, it's in my sponsor list on my left sidebar--so sweet that I was willing to sponsor myself;) hahaha. It's a super simple layout; nothing fancy; and for now I'm only blogging there once a week (gg&g still gets about three posts a week:)

And a little sneak peak into something else, I may be starting to write as a contributing author at another site, but until all those details are worked out, that's all I'm saying for now!

Love you all! Thanks so much for your un-ending support!

P.S. Okay, so I talked about the new blog and you're probably wondering what (if anything) will change here. I honestly can't say for sure. As of right now, I don't plan to ever completely shut down glitter gloss & glaze, but when Baby gets here, things may shift and I may start posting more on Lipgloss and Sippy Cups than here; but I just can't say for sure. Truth be told, those first few months I probably won't have time to blog at all anywhere! :)
