glitter gloss & glaze: Candy Cane Nails

There's been a picture on Pinterest that I've had pinned to my "i heart my nails" board for months just waiting for it to be close enough to Christmas for it to be relevant! (and how amazing is Pinterest?? Who knew there were so many fabulous ideas out there just waiting to be found... and who knew so much time could be wasted on one site/app? lol) Anyway, it was this picture (http://chloesnails.blogspot.com/2010/12/peppermint-mani.html):

Oh they look amazing! And they just scream Christmas to me!

So, this weekend I did them. Now, don't get your hopes; mine do not look NEARLY as good as hers did. My lines aren't perfect; I didn't tape them. Maybe there's something wrong with me, but I cannot for the life of me get the hang of taping my nails for lines. I usually ruin my nails worse with the tape... but perhaps I just need more pratice.

I started with my newly buffed/shined/and base coated nails:

Then it was two coats of O.P.I. Mummy Knows Best:

Lines done in Milani Red Jewels (which is a goegous color!vibrant red with red sparkles... it's one of my favorites, especially around this time of year!

I also added a thin line of Sinful Colors Fashionista just to give it an extra bit of sparkle:) Followed by a coat of N.Y.C Extra Shiny Top Coat and it was done!
