New e.l.f. stuff!! :)

Hi Lovelies!! Didn't get a chance to blog last night! (I'm sure you noticed, haha:) I pretty much fell asleep right after dinner! (the sleep was MUCH needed and MUCH appreciated!!:)

Anyway, I went shopping again! This time to Target and picked up just a few new e.l.f. products:) Instead of showing all individual pictures, I'm just going to do a group shot and show more pictures of them when I do reviews! :)
1. Bronzing Brush -- $1 -- since I'm starting to play around with contouring, I knew it was time to invest in a good bronzer brush to get the right angle so it starts to look like it's supposed to ;)

2. Luscious Liquid Lipstick -- $1 -- 2111 Baby Lips -- I'm excited about trying this product. A few years back... well... more like eight years back... I remember using something similar to this from Bonne Bell except it had a brush instead of a sponge for the applicator.

3. Eyelid Primer -- $1 -- I've used this product before and it worked pretty good for a primer; I felt like it ran out quite quickly. But, it is only a dollar and only .17fl oz;)

4. Shimmering Facial Whip -- $1 --1205 Lilac Petal -- Not gonna lie, I kinda picked this up just for the name:) I love the words "shimmering" and "whip" :) lol sounds beautiful and delicious! Its use is to highlight cheeks, eyes, and lips (multi-purpose!:)

5.) Nail Polish Remover Pads -- $1 -- I've already reviewed these and LOVE them:) Using cotton balls last week just didn't cut it; I had to buy more!!

And I didn't get all e.l.f. stuff, I also picked up...
Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush 45 Orchid Hush

I know, I know. I just got one of these earlier this week and haven't even reviewed that one yet! I'm not even much of a blush wearer, but I'm enjoying it so far and this shade just really intrigues me! It may not look good at all with my skin-tone, but it's such a pretty color!!!:)

That's all for now! I'm hoping to have some time this weekend to catch up on more posts!

Mini Walmart Makeup Haul

So I'm kinda swerving from the schedule for a bit, but from the survey results I think you all are okay with that;)

Anyway, I did a little shopping and wanted to do a quick mini-haul to show you what I got! Of course there will be full reviews on all the stuff after I've used it enough!

This is all from Walmart... I went for some groceries and just got sidetracked into the makeup section...

In my defense, I really was in need of new mascara;)
Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes in Blackest Black
But along with that, I also got:
150 Classic Ivory
Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam foundation. I know there have been some mixed reviews over this. I'd seen in first in an ad in a magazine and thought the concept was pretty cool. After reading Kelly's post on it, I knew I wanted to try it! I'll save all the details for my full review, but let's just say, day two of use and I'm pretty pleased:)
05 Fresh Pink
Next was another new Maybelline product: the bouncy blush! Everyone said it was actually kinda bouncy! I made the mistake of pressing on it thinking it would spring back up (nope, just left a dent hahaha). First impressions, it's very soft and light.
717A Bronze Gold
This was the most random purchase. I'd been thinking about getting e.l.f.'s highlighter/bronzer duo, but I saw NYC Sun 2 Sun Bronzing Powder and figured I'd pick it up yet. I have not even opened it yet! So no first impressions yet:)

Last but not least, I picked up some more eyebrow waxing strips! I'm not sure if this is the same brand I usually use just in new packaging, but I'm hoping they work just as well! An easy/fast/cheap way to get great shaped eyebrows at home!

So that's it for now! Like I said, full reviews to come soon! How 'bout you? Any shopping lately? Find any fab new products? You must share!:)

We interrupt your regularly scheduled blog post...

I didn't get the time to do a good formal post today. I was gonna do a review of Revlon lip butters (and honestly, who of us hasn't seen several of those already? Lol) I do still plan on writing it up because my review may not say everything you've read before. I can tell you right now my bottom line is "don't buy into all the hype." But more on that later:)

Just a few quick things about friends I wanted to share. Last weekend, I started a series on friendship and how hard it is to make friends. I was surprised at just how many of us have similar situations!! It's nice to know I'm not alone:) Today, out of the blue, I had this girl I used to work with chat me and say "Why is it so hard to find good girl friends?!" (she had no idea about my blog, and that I was struggling with the exact issue!) I about fell out of my chair! "You've got to be kidding me!" I replied, "I've been wondering the same thing!!!"

It's hard to make friends, and sometimes even harder to keep them.

I will be continuing the friendship series on the weekends for as long as I still have stuff to say about it and as long as you all can still relate to it lol:)

One final friend thought. I recently reunited with a friend last weekend. There was a while we saw each other every day of the week with going to the gym and dance class together along with other social outings. But as often happens, life gets in the way and we didn't see each other as much. It's been several months and last Friday we ran into each other at a Pampered Chef party. I'm super excited to report we're gonna go out tomorrow!! Yaaaay!!!:) should be a pretty fab time. Just wanted to share a picture of us from last year. It was a pretty great makeup night for me! May try something similar tomorrow night!

xoxo,
Kristen

(yes, this is from the blogger app. I'm laying in bed and too exhausted to get my computer out lol. Sweet dreams, lovelies!!!:)

Everyday Makeup Q&A

Happy Wednesday! The week is halfway over! Hope you're having a great one and looking forward to some fun stuff over the weekend:)

Today's Q&A is actually one I got on last week's post. It comes from Beautiful Stranger from A Thing of Beauty and she asked:

Q. "Do you prefer natural or eye-popping makeup? It always fascinates me to what other makeup junkies consider to be an 'everyday' look :D"

A. This is a great question! And it's a good point. All these bloggers out there that review great products and show all this stuff, it's very easy to wonder what they use and how they look every day.

Hate to disappoint you, but on most days I have very basic, minimal makeup routine, especially during the week. (partly 'cause I don't want to overdo it at work... but mostly 'cause I'm lazy and I choose a few extra minutes of sleep vice a few extra beauty minutes lol)
my everyday makeup bag

So it's usually moisturizer (Pond's), primer (Hard Candy), eyelid primer (e.l.f.), powder (MAC Studio Fix), eyeshadow (usually pinks, purples, or browns) (Wet 'n Wild, Hard Candy), liner (which I am positive is the secret to making my eyes noticeable at all lol) (e.l.f or Maybelline), mascara (e.l.f. right now, often Maybelline), lipgloss (too many brands to list!). DONE! I call it 5-minute makeup!

For night's out and weekends, I'll usually add darker eye makeup and some contouring powders. More on this another time:)

What are some of your go to products? How do you wear your makeup every day?

If you don't wash off your makeup...

...it'll add seven years to your face. Is that really true? I surely hope not. There have been soooo many days I go to bed with makeup on. I've probably aged my face 10,000+ years (maybe not; math was never my strong point lol). I blame it mostly on laziness. Not that it even takes that long. But sometimes, I'm already in my PJs, curled up in bed with a good book or TV show, and I just don't *feel* like getting back up to wash my face. Sure, there are ways around that! Get those makeup remover wipes and keep them next to the bed! Been there; done that; never got around to buying the refill packs. Ah, I'm horrible.

What I do do instead, however, is I'll go for a few days without wearing makeup at all. (usually when I'm not at work; 'cause God forbid those people see how I *really* look;) Anyway, I'm fortunate enough to have pretty good skin. I'll have the occasional break out certain times of the month or when I'm really stressed; but overall, I'm a pretty lucky girl. Soft, creamy, ivory complexion. Light pink undertones. Dark eyelashes. Thick (sometimes out of control if I don't keep up with the waxing) eyebrows. Very Snow White-ish. My college roommate once told me, "When you don't wear makeup, you just look tired." Which was actually kind of a compliment. I don't *have* to wear makeup. I just do. Because I love it. And, well, let's be honest, we all have our own insecurities, and I still feel more comfortable keeping myself covered up.

But for all of you other girls out there, follow this advice and do what I should be doing (all the time) and wash your faces before bed!!! Beauty sleep is better with a fresh face:)

For anyone who is wondering though, here is my latest morning skin care regiment (I know I need to improve it. I'm a few years out from 30, but I know the wrinkles and aging is forming. I've gotta step it up:)
