Nail Challenge Week 17: Earth Appreciation Mani

Hi Lovelies! Just a super quick post today so I can keep up with the weekly nail challenge! This week was "Earth Appreciation" since yesterday was Earth Day! (is this just an American holiday? I figure since we all inhabit the earth, we should all celebrate; but it seems like something Americans would think of lol)

Anyway, I really wanted to draw little globes on my nails; however, I am just not that skilled.

Sooooo, I decided to do trees! Sort of. Lots of people plant trees on Earth day (or is that Arbor Day?) and it seemed fitting.

Two coats of China Glaze Mahogany Magic from the Hunger Games collection ~ I've never really thought of brown as being a pretty color; but this is a really pretty, creamy, milk chocolate color. I love it!

On top of it, I sprinkled some little glittery pieces from the Martha Stewart collection (I picked these up last week at Michael's when I got the glass beads for my Kaviar nails:) The plan was they would look kinda like leaves/branches/tops of trees.

Hahhahaha, it turned out sooooo pathetic. I think if there were less green so that it was more flecks than piles it would've looked better. They look more like bushes or shrubbery than trees. LOL

Not every challenge is a winner, right?

Did you do a unique mani for Earth day? Or do anything special to celebrate?
P.S. If you were wondering (like I was) Earth Day is celebrated in about 175 countries world wide... but it was started in America. LOL

NOTD: Pre-Valentines Week Nails

Hey Lovelies! So Valentine's Day is just around the corner! I've had so many fab ideas to do, I decided to let my nails celebrate the week before as well:)

Before I show you mine though, how gorgeous are these nails that I found on Pinterest? I figure with a few Sally Hansen nail pens, this is probably do-able. And simply FAB! Love, love, love these!
Okay, I'm starting to think I shouldn't have put that picture in with mine since mine hardly compare lol.

The polishes I used are: OPI base coat, Revlon Cotton Candy (it's SCENTED!! And yes, even with top coat, it still smells like cotton candy!), Konad pink stamping polish, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Rockstar Pink, Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat. And I used the hearts design on Shany plate SH12 with the Konad scraper and double ended stamper.

Here's how they turned out!

And a close-up to see the heart design and the glitter!
I used the mutli-colored glitter just to add a little extra something at the tips:)

Have you tried any V-day manis yet? Or thinking about what you'll be doing?? I think for my actually Valentine's Day Mani I'll do red and white, but we'll see how many times I change my mind between now and then ;)

Santa Nails--Ho, Ho, Ho!!

Just a quick Tuesday Nail Day post! I'm still playing with different holiday nail looks! This past weekend I did Santa Nails!

My initial plan was to do a nude face with a white beard and red hat... but I'm still new at stamping, and I just could not get it lined up perfectly!

So I went all white, stamped the Santa face from Shany plate SH03 and my Konad black, and did a red over the top for the hat! They turned out pretty well (obviously, not perfect), but they seem to be a big hit around the office at work!:)

Now, the crackle polishes were popular this summer and I really felt that their time had come and gone (with the exception of my Halloween toes that turned out amazing). So, now I'm of the belief they're a good holiday polish lol. On my toes I used Sinful Colors GoGo Girl and used OPI white shatter over top--turned out like snow covered peppermints!:) I promise it looks super fun, I'm just not sure my toes are blog picture ready yet lol:)
