What's that smell?? My new favorite products!!!:)

(Disclaimer: Clearly I'm still not very good at getting back to the posting every day schedule I was on earlier. And I PROMISE I'm trying. But hopefully someday soon, I'll be able to tell you what's been going on and it will all make more sense! But for now, today's post!:)

I had been hearing about "Scentsy" products for a while, and I'm pretty sure I was the LAST PERSON IN THE WORLD (slight exaggeration) to actually buy a Scentsy product. It's not that I didn't want to, I just had never been invited to a Scentsy party or approached by a Scentsy consultant before. (this is kinda surprising, 'cause I'm pretty sure I've been to nearly every other "home party" type company;)

Anyway, when I was at a little convention thing at the State Fairgrounds, I saw a Scentsy display. Everything was so pretty! And it smelled delicious!! I wanted so badly to buy something, but I really wasn't sure what I wanted. Or how it worked. Or really anything about the company at all. So! I did some homework, and the second day of the convention, I knew what was up:)

If you're like me, and not totally sure of what it's all about, let me give you a quick rundown. As already mentioned, Scentsy is a run-your-own-business company that allows individuals to become consultants and sell the products online, at parties, and as vendors at public events like the one I was attending. Their products consist mostly of "warmers" to put the wax bars in... wax melts and smells A-MAZ-ING.
It is such an amazing concept! Especially for people who are in dorms or aparments where you're really not supposed to light candles (fire hazards!) you can get the same scent as a candle, without the flame! The warmers are electric, so when you plug them in the have a special little light bulb that lights up the warmer and melts the wax (genius, I tell you!). When you're done using it, just turn it off; the wax hardens; and is ready to be melted again the next time you turn it on! Don't want that scent any more? Just scrape it out and throw a new one in.

I was totally sold on the concept. So that next day, I marched (okay, I walked) right up to Jennifer Baukus's booth and exclaimed (well, said) "I want to buy something!"

So I got the Doodlebud Warmer ($30) and the Vanilla Cream Scentsy Bar ($5). And I absolutely fell in love.
not shown to scale. obviously it's not as big as the warmer lol

I can't even begin to tell you how much money I wasted spent on candles before I found Scentsy. I had expensive candles, cheap candles, nice candles, blah candles... and eventually they would all melt down, burn up, whatever. Scentsy is like the candle that keeps on going.. and going.. and going...

Needless to say, I will definitely be purchasing some more! Right now the warmer is in my bed room, but I want one for my living room, my dining room, my guest room, my craft room... lol you get the idea. And I want a lot more bars so I can switch up the scents or have different aromas for different rooms!

I won't be buying from just any Scentsy consultant--my go to woman now is Jennifer Baukus! She was such a sweetheart when I bought it from her, she even threw in this little spatula thing to help me scoop out the used wax! And her assistant (a.k.a. her husband;) did a fabulous job in supporting her and making sure I got the latest catalogues in my bag.

The good news is, I'm willing to share my Scentsy consultant! In fact, I encourage you to go check out her site and see everything Scentsy has to offer! (I only scratched the surface with allllll the products they have!) I know the money you put down for the warmer at first is a bit much, but the bars are soooo cheap I promise in the long run it will save all the money you've spent on candles in probably your whole lifetime!:)

So what are you waiting for??? Head over and say hi to Jennifer! Tell her I sent you and have a look around her store and pick some things out!!

(*note, all items were purchased with my own money; all pictures are from the Scentsy website)

P.S. You may notice that Jennifer is also my FIRST SPONSOR! Yay!! So you can always find her link, over to the left at the top of my sidebar;)

I Heart Garnier Fructis Surf Hair

I think I mentioned a few Monday Hair Posts back that I seem to have a bunch of Garnier Fructis hair products (oh yes, it's true). And what's kinda interesting about it is that none of them were ever bought at the same time. They all were bought for different purposes (depending on what I was bothered about by my hair at the time. lol)

Things I love about Garnier Fructis? The packaging! Everything is green and yellow and bright and fun. They come in good shapes and sizes. The smell! I can't quite say what exactly everything smells like.. kinda fruity, kinda tropical, kinda sweet, but all around delightful. The price! I feel like I can get high end quality results with a lower end priced product.

If you ever ask me what my favorite product for my wavy hair is, this would be my answer: Garnier Fructis Surf Hair Texture Paste. This stuff is aaaamaaaaazzzinnng!!! It's like light a mousse, but I feel has more hold to my hair. So it's sticky like a gel, but more malleable and doesn't get hard and crunchy. ($4-ish at Walgreens)

The website provides this information:
Got the beach in your soul? Get surf in your hair.

. Messed-up, matte effect style with flexible hold
. Definition and volume without build-up

Hold Level: Strong

How to use: Rub a dime size amount of paste between your palms, apply to slightly damp/dry hair and style. Define individual areas with your fingers.

clearly time for more (but you can see how much I love it!!)

I LOVE the waves I get from it. Parts of my hair actually look curly instead of just wavy. Downsides? I've found that my hair is kinda gross the day after. After sleeping on it it often looks like a mushed up mess and it can be hard to brush/comb through. Also, (this could be how I'm scrunching) my hair tends to frizz A LOT so I NEED to use enough anti-frizz serum/cream/whatever before this product. I'm still trying to get the right combination of products to work together. (note: sometimes I scrunch and blow dry... and my hair ends up HUGE... sometimes I scrunch and air dry. It's sometimes more flat but more curly then. weird)

But definitely try this if you want a fast, easy hair style that will last all day:)

Have you tried this product? Am I the only one that is subconsciously obsessed with Garnier Nuctris???

My Favorite Hair Tools

Well, it's another Monday here at Glitter, Gloss, and Glaze which means HAIR DAY!!! Woohoooo!! Today is all about my favorite hair tools! I was going to call them "utensils" but that word makes me picture a fork... which then makes me think of Ariel in "The Little Mermaid" when she tries to use the fork in her hair. Hahaha, I promise, I do not use forks in my hair:)

I have really thick hair and it takes some time to blow dry my hair so it's completely dry. I would burn out blow dryer after blowdryer throughout high school and college. It almost wasn't even a big deal to buy a new one every year or so. Then, I found my Revlon one. My beautiful pink Revlon one! I got it for about $20 at Wal-mart (of course, now it's on sale for just under $13 at Walmart.com;) and it has lasted me years! It's an 1875 Ionic Blowdryer and it is amazing! It comes with a removable diffuser (which is great if you want to scrunch wavy hair while drying and get more curls to pop; or if you want to focus the air on hair to blow dry straight). It has three heat settings as well as a cool button. The high is not too hot and hasn't burned me yet! (I had that problem with some of the others) I highly recommend this dryer to anyone who wants a good, powerful dryer that doesn't cost a lot of money:)

My next favorite tool is my Remington Wet 2 Style Straightener with 1" Curved Plates. I'd been through several straighteners before settling on this one. I loved that I had the option to do my hair wet or dry (as it advertises) However! I have since learned you should really not use heat products like straighteners on wet hair--it is much more damaging! I have on occasion when my hair was just lightly damp run the straightener over it. I love the variety of settings that the straightener has; it heats up really fast--I'll usually plug it in, turn it on, blow dry, then it's ready for use!

The last tool I'll share with you is my Conair Hot Sticks! I am horrible with curling irons. (absolutely HORRIBLE); sponge curlers and plastic ones I leave in overnight just make my hair toooo crazy curly. These work perfectly! They heat up pretty fast and when they're ready for use the red light on top turns white. They come in two sizes... the pink is small and the green is larger--so you get tighter and looser curls. They are perfect for a night out updo or regular day at work. Just wrap the hair around them, stick one end thru the loop, do your makeup, then they're cool and ready to come out. It is absolutely genius, and I love them!!

What are some of your favorite hair tools? And what could you not live without?? Your blow dryer? Curling iron? Straightener? Let me know what you think! :)

Hard Candy Glossaholic!!

Just got home a little while ago from a fabulous sushi date with a grand friend of mine! What a great time! There are few things in life better than yummy sushi and great conversation with people you like:) The funniest thing was she painted her nails before coming out with me because she was nervous about having ugly nails since I always do mine "so pretty" :) lol

Anyway, nothing super huge to report, but I wanted to share with you one of my all time favorite beauty products--Hard Candy's Glossaholic lip gloss! ($5 at Wal-mart) This stuff is amazing!!! I got my first one sometime around April, 2011. I started with the color "Gorgeous" and fell in love with everything about it! The applicator is HUGE it coats my entire lip in one swipe! The color is so soft but brilliant with all the different sparkles in it! There was a light, sweet, slightly vanilla taste. I NEEDED to have more of these!

So I got "Tipsy"... then "Fairy".... then the ones "infused with mood altering elixirs"...
And suddenly I had more than half the collection.

These glosses are like crack (okay, I've never done any drugs in my whole life; but it's how I imagine an addictive illegal substance would be;) I couldn't get enough of them! I loved them! I wanted them all!!

By far my MOST FAVORITE gloss of all time! They are comprised of every one of the favorite things listed in my blog title: there's GLITTER in them; they are GLOSSes, and they GLAZE my lips.

If you buy nothing else I recommend ever, please get this lip gloss. :)
